Returns & Refunds

We build parts for one truck, and most of what we sell is made to order in small batches. That shapes this policy. Read it before you buy — and if anything is unclear, email us first. We would rather answer a fitment question than process a return.

The short version: emblems and keytags ship back free within 30 days. Other stocked parts can be returned within 30 days with return shipping paid by you. Made-to-order items — headlights, roof racks, lift kits, and preorders — are final sale once shipped, and are covered by our manufacturer defect warranty instead.

Free returns: emblems and keytags

The Toyota Tri-Color Emblem and the Tri-Color Keytag can be returned within 30 days of delivery at no cost to you — we cover return shipping. Send them back new and uninstalled in the original packaging and email us for a prepaid return label.

30-day returns: other stocked parts

These items can also be returned within 30 days of delivery, in new and uninstalled condition, in their original packaging:

Spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor
Thermoses and dash mats
Rain guards / window visors
Power steering idle-up valve delete kit
3VZ intake pipe

For these, return shipping is paid by the customer unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or was sent in error. Once we receive and inspect the item, refunds are issued to the original payment method, typically within 5 business days.

Final sale: made-to-order items

The following are built for your order and cannot be returned or exchanged once shipped:

All LED projector headlights (ATOM, Freya, Apollo, Sinister, Sinister X2, Everest) and DEPO-style headlights
V3 full-length roof rack
3" complete lift kits
Snorkel kits, TRD-style grilles, adjustable panhard bars
Any preorder item

These carry a manufacturer defect warranty instead — see below. Order cancellations before shipping are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled.

Manufacturer defect warranty

Every product we sell is covered against manufacturing defects and transit damage. If an item arrives damaged or defective, email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number, clear photos of the problem, and a short description. Verified claims are resolved with a replacement; if a replacement is unavailable, we refund the affected item in full.

Not covered: damage from improper installation or modification, normal wear from off-road use, and items purchased through third parties.

Headlight core charges

Headlights that carry a refundable core charge require your stock housings to be returned within 10 days of delivery. Once we receive them, the core charge is refunded to your original payment method.

Preorders

Preorder payment is taken at the time of order and the estimated ship date is stated on the product page. If that date moves, we email you, and you may cancel for a full refund at that point. Once a preorder ships, the final-sale terms above apply.

How to start a return or claim

Email standardamericanoutdoors@gmail.com with your order number and what you need. We read every message. Do not ship anything back before contacting us — returns sent without prior authorization may not be processed.
