The Truck That Started It All #Bartholomule

The Truck That Started It All #Bartholomule

My 1992 Toyota 4Runner aka #Bartholomule is the truck that started it all about 11 years ago. I'm the second owner and he was a handsome guy and bone stock. He has a 3VZ V6 and an R150F 5-speed transmission.

The first year consisted of putting the stock rims on some 32" BF Goodrich Mud Terrains, wheel it, break it, and fix it. I honed my mechanic skills and necessity became the mother of invention which is a whole other story, lol.

As time went on I ended up breaking the IFS 3 times before I put a 1983 Toyota solid axle under it and never buy Super Swamper TSL's. #Bartholomule

Got rid of the Swampers and put on some 33" BF Goodrich KM2 Mud Terrains. Ditched the torsion bar and link suspension and replaced it with leaf springs and a Toyota solid axle up front. (Drives sooooo much better.) #Bartholomule

Lunch break flexin' taught me I need longer shocks. Added 1/4" steel homemade front bumper, 37" Goodyear Wrangler MT's, and 2x2 steel rock sliders. #Bartholomule

This 1983 Toyota axle is the sh*t. I highly recommend rock lights. #Bartholomule

This pic shows a lot of additions such as a 1 1/2" stinger on the front bumper, Smitty Bilt 8.5K Wench, a homemade 3" steel snorkel, a homemade 1x1 steel roof rack with e-bay special light bar, Home Depot special fender flares, Trail Gear rock sliders, a whole rear tire set up with mud flaps, and 37" Goodyear Wrangler MTR's. #Bartholomule

Christmas tree hunting with the fam. I finally added longer shocks and I even have to go longer. 37" Goodyear Wrangler MTR's do really well in the snow 18psi. #Bartholomule

Added aluminum center line rims and finished my homemade side ladder on the tire carrier. Chopped down the roof rack for a complete flat-top rack. #Bartholomule

Took The Ol' Mule out hoping to bag a bear in Eldorado National Forest at 8500 ft. elevation. Hiked in about 3 miles and on the way back out the snow started comin' down heavier than expected. I had to drop down to 14 psi without bead locks! (Surprised they didn't come off the bead.) Barely made it out. Good times with #Bartholomule.

I had a buddy come into town from Florida so wheelin' was a must. #Bartholomule

Muley assisting with a very important mission today. Hanging a homemade BF Goodrich tire swing for my boy. #Bartholomule

My first set of tires that I've ever bought brand new. A full set of five 35x12.5 BF Goodrich Mud Terrains. Damn it I love these tires. #Bartholomule

Operation Dream Truck has commenced. Finally getting rid of the 3VZ V6 and swappin' in something I've wanted even before I owned this truck. Guess what it is? #Bartholomule

This is the only clutch I will ever use. It really is. #Bartholomule

I can smell the fumes now. If you know me, nothing but Toyota! This 3VZ V6 owes me nothing... he gave his all no matter what I put it through. #Bartholomule

Can you guess? Can you guess? Can you guess? We've pulled a lot of friends and strangers out of the mud, he's never left me stranded and has always gotten me home. He deserves nothing but the best.
