Returns, Refunds & Limited Warranty

We build parts for one truck, and most of what we sell is made to order in small batches. That shapes this policy. Read it before you buy — and if anything is unclear, email us first. We would rather answer a fitment question than process a return.

The short version: emblems and keytags ship back free within 30 days. Other stocked parts can be returned within 30 days with return shipping paid by you. Made-to-order items — headlights, roof racks, lift kits, snorkels, grilles, panhard bars and preorders — are final sale once shipped, and digital downloads are final sale once delivered. Every product carries our 7-day limited warranty against manufacturing defects and shipping damage.

Free returns: emblems and keytags

The Toyota Tri-Color Emblem and the Tri-Color Keytag can be returned within 30 days of delivery at no cost to you — we cover return shipping. Send them back new and uninstalled in the original packaging and email us for a prepaid return label.

30-day returns: other stocked parts

These items can also be returned within 30 days of delivery, in new and uninstalled condition, in their original packaging:

Spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor
Thermoses and dash mats
Rain guards / window visors
Power steering idle-up valve delete kit
3VZ intake pipe
Onboard air compressors and kits (single with line kit, twin, twin with line kit, Bunker kit)
Quad air hose kit and tire deflator kit

For these, return shipping is paid by the customer unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or was sent in error. Once we receive and inspect the item, refunds are issued to the original payment method, typically within 5 business days.

Final sale: made-to-order items

The following are built for your order and cannot be returned or exchanged once shipped:

All LED projector headlights (ATOM, Freya, Apollo, Sinister, Sinister X2, Everest) and DEPO-style headlights
All roof racks: V3 HD, Medium Duty and Light Duty
3" complete lift kits
Snorkel kits, TRD-style grilles, adjustable panhard bars
Any preorder item

These are covered by our 7-day limited warranty below instead.

Digital products

The 2nd Gen 4Runner Field Inspection Manual is a digital download and is final sale once delivered. If you have trouble downloading it, reply to your delivery email and we’ll get you the file. If something in it is wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it and send you the corrected version.

Ship times and cancellations

Each product page shows its current build time or ready-to-ship status. If we can’t ship your order within that time, we’ll email you before it passes with a new estimated ship date, and you can choose to wait or cancel for a full refund — no restocking fee in that case. Refunds for those cancellations go back to your original payment method within 7 business days.

Otherwise, cancellations before shipping are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled.

7-Day Limited Warranty

Standard American Outdoors warrants every product we sell, to the original purchaser, to be free of manufacturing defects and shipping damage when delivered. To make a claim, email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number, clear photos or a short video of the problem, and a short description. If we verify the claim, we will, at no charge to you, send a replacement or, if a replacement isn’t available, refund the affected item in full. If we need the item back to verify the claim, we’ll send you a prepaid return label.

Not covered: damage from improper installation or modification, normal wear from off-road use, and items purchased through third parties.

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO 7 DAYS FROM DELIVERY. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

THE REPLACEMENT OR REFUND DESCRIBED ABOVE IS YOUR SOLE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Headlight core charges

Headlights that carry a refundable core charge require your stock housings to be returned within 10 days of delivery. Once we receive them, the core charge is refunded to your original payment method only if the old housings are rebuildable. If they are not rebuildable, the core charge is not refunded.

Preorders

Preorder payment is taken at the time of order and the estimated ship date is stated on the product page. If that date moves, we email you, and you may cancel for a full refund at that point. Once a preorder ships, the final-sale terms above apply.

How to start a return or claim

Email standardamericanoutdoors@gmail.com with your order number and what you need. We read every message. Do not ship anything back before contacting us — returns sent without prior authorization may not be processed.
